After a long break from all things music Evan has returned with his first professional recordings of original material. Recorded over several days at Cacophony Recorders in Austin, Texas his album Ramblin’ on the Coast Highway has been released digitally on the independent bandcamp.com. CDs and limited vinyl available first quarter 2018. It features emotional soundscapes, heartfelt hooks and powerful musical imagery. The record features one of Austin’s preeminent musicians in Joseph Woullard (Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears, Hard Proof, Gary Clark Jr.) providing raw baritone saxophone on several tracks. The highlight of Woullard’s contribution is on the moving chorus of the title track with his awe inspiring four part saxophone harmony.

Since recording the album Evan has returned to Albuquerque and has started to play shows for the first time in two years. His soulful sets are dynamic with Woodward performing original and cover material in genres ranging from folk and blues to grunge and old school country. Woodward’s classically trained baritone paired with his slide playing on his electric acoustic dobro is part of what makes his solo sets stand out from the rest. But his chops on guitar are also noticeable after several years studying under the legendary Stan Hirsch. Woodward also sports a raised top shallow body Loar (ala Shakey Graves) and a bottom heavy Silvertone known as The Mojo.
